Q&A 1
Kit Blake Strides
Here’s our starter for ten
I’d love to know more about the trousers you’re wearing, the colour and pleat are fantastic - Alex
Thanks Alex, lots of my strides are by our friends - Kit Blake Trousers. Whose biggest selling pair of strides happen to be called the Aleks (!) which is their best-selling model and the original style they launched with back in the day.
The pair you’ve asked about are The Grant which are based on the Aleks style, however, they have a more pronounced taper from the knee down. They are approximately 2” narrower at the hem and 1” slimmer in the thigh than the Aleks. The cloth is fabulous a Brown Herringbone Wool Tweed with all the detail up close for the win.
They feature two inward-facing deep pleats and are cut to sit higher on the waist, it’s a generous and classic fit. I love these and actually look forward to wearing them. It’s the full cut in a traditional trouser that makes for an easy all day wear, particularly as they sit perfectly on your natural waist with side-adjusters. The vast majority of my strides have a two-inch cuff and for two reasons - firstly it helps with the drape of the trouser, to ensure when hemmed properly they’ll kiss the top of the shoe. Secondly, it looks better.
If you order a pair they’ll come unfinished so you can have them altered to your desired length, cuff or not. If you are in-between sizes, they will say to size up. If you’re still unsure I’d send them an email they’d be delighted to help. If it’s useful I’m 5’11’’, 12 stones and wear 32’’ waist comfortably whilst cinching the side-adjusters.

Their Autumn/Winter collection is still live and I believe they’ve just launched their Spring/Summer line-up. Be rude not to take a look.
Best
