Neckties
I almost feel apologetic about shoe-horning another blue jacket in to the conversation. Nah, what am I thinking, of course not. It’s a staple in many different guises and the perfect vehicle, alongside grey strides, brown suede loafers and a striped shirt to start exploring the Spring and Summer necktie collection. Today a slubby shantung by Rampley & Co. See vid’ down below.
It may not be easy to see here but what took my fancy was the navy and ivory block stripe, smaller sage stripe with a finer still copper stripe for that bit of detail. The Shantung slubbyness comes from the use of thicker yarns, giving it a distinctive appearance, perfect therefore dressed up or down.
The first shantung I owned in actual fact was a Drakes beauty, still have it of course, similar to this one with the blue and white block stripes with just two alternating fine stripes in red and yellow. Here it is with another blue blazer and doubling up with green seersucker.
As is the one I later added, this one from Exquisite Trimmings who sadly are no longer with us. Always a sucker for a blue necktie the orange gives me a nice pop of colour. It’s seriously slubby too for the win.
